In the summer of 2019 I heard about an 8 hour hike to the top of a local mountain that was supposed to be rather exhilarating. Some friends of mine and I had talked about making the trek many a time, but none of them were interested in doing in naked or even being with me if I was, so I made the decision to tackle it alone. I made sure to do all of the proper safety measures like letting multiple people know where I was going, when I was going, what time I expected to be back, etc. I also had a GPS device on me and a way to contact people.
Once everything was set, I waited for a really good weather forecast, and took off at about 6am to get on the mountain, strip down, and experience hiking like I believe it was intended to be experienced.

The mountain is located on the Sunshine Coast, B.C. Canada. This area is northwest of the city of Vancouver, and the only way to get to it is via a ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay. The area is not an island, nor is it part of Vancouver Island as is often misreported or misunderstood. It is a part of the mainland, but is cut off from the rest of the mainland by an extensive mountain range. The area is Temperate Coastal Rain Forest, and is an unbelievably gorgeous place and has thousands of trails to find and hike. Most are extremely popular, however, and get busy quite fast. So if you're going to go get naked, you really need to do it with a quick cover to put on and a stout heart.
The hike itself is rather moderate for the first leg. Groomed trails mainly used for Mountain Biking cover the first quarter. As you get further up, however, the groomed trails end and you get onto what is basically little more than a game trail. The terrain gets rougher and the inclines steeper.
